Abraham is a 53 year old who is not able to read or write and is permanently disabled from arthritis. He lives alone in the 28206 zip code area near Tryon and Craighead. He needs help in arranging doctor appointments, prescriptions, and transportation to appointments. He would also love someone to just sit and visit with him! He is pleasant to talk with and appears to have a strong belief in God. He has an aid that comes once a week to take care of other needs.
Abraham has no family or friends to assist him with him mail, reading, or transportation to doctor appointments - he seeks a group of friends who will show God’s love to him in ministry and in companionship. Spending time with Abraham will be a blessing!
Mr. and Mrs. Banks
Mr. and Mrs. Banks live in a cute little home in Southwest Charlotte. Mrs. Banks has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and is very attached to Mr. Banks and he is very protective of her. They have a nurse’s aide who comes and helps Mr. Bank with Mrs. Banks’ personal care needs on a regular basis. Mr. Banks is very personable and friendly. Mrs. Banks is very shy and often reluctant to interact due to her illness. Mr. Banks often uses a cane to assist him in ambulation.
They need assistance with cleaning, shopping, and yard work. Sometimes they will need assistance with transportation when their family cannot assist them. They have children who are involved in their lives but are unable to assist them on a regular basis due to jobs, etc.
The most challenging thing about the Banks might be that they are devout Jehovah’s Witnesses.
They need someone to minister to them and reveal to them the love of Christ.
Ms. Hattie is a wonderful client for a LINC Team. She has a church home, but it is small and the members are unable to care for her. She is a wonderful Christian woman who loves reading her Bible and praying. She has children, but only one lives close and is not able to help her very much. She lives in senior housing in the Cherry neighborhood and needs help with shopping, some transportation, and meals. It is a joy to sit and visit with Ms. Hattie – a team would be blessed to minister to her.
