Love Stories
Please allow us to introduce you to some of the unforgettable individuals recently helped by Love INC volunteers. We believe your heart will be touched, as was ours, when we learned of their situation. It is a blessing to be part of a ministry that can help congregations minister and give assistance to people like these.

KAREN
Karen has multiple sclerosis and significant vision
loss due to Coats’ disease, came to Love INC
several months ago when she was forced by the
NCDOT to relocate. They assisted her in buying a
new home but denied her request for a ramp as
she is dependent upon a cane/walker.
A group from Lake Forest Church stepped up and
not only built a ramp for Karen but visited with
her, planted flowers in the yard and continued a
friendship with her long after the work was done.
She wanted to “give back” and has volunteered
as one of our Telephone Reassurance Ministry
callers. In Karen’s own words, “To God be the glory for all that He has done!”

JUDY
Judy is retired and deals with post-polio
syndrome. As a result, she was isolated from
family and friends. A group from Mount Zion
United Methodist Church “adopted” her to help
with many daily challenges.
As they built a relationship with her, she began
to feel the love of Christ and has recently become an active member of their congregation. |

PETER
Peter, who is paralyzed on his right side due to a
stroke, became a client in November 2010 when
he was referred to us by Disability Rights and
Resources. He is always a very happy man who
loves the Lord, enjoys people and embraces life.
Volunteer groups from Mulberry Baptist Youth,
Charlotte Heart Work Camp, and Johnson Control
have provided help for him including house
cleaning and major home repair. One of our
volunteers, Charlie and his family, have adopted
Peter. They minister in so many areas of his life
including praying with him and inviting him out to dinner.

DELORES
Dolores needed help recently after she moved
to Charlotte. A home group from Forest Hill
Church "adopted" her and that was the beginning
of a mutual love for each other.
They clean, take her out socially, help with her
shopping and stay connected with her through
visits and phone calls. The children of the team
members often visit her. She says this experience
has been a wonderful blessing for her.
